Cat / 023BUZZ: The San Fran Wonder returns to Buzzin Fly with a dirt fuelled growler of a record. Justin first came to prominence with his first ever record, 'The Sad Piano', on Buzzin' Fly back in 2003 after Ben Watt was given a demo in a dark Miami club. Since then he has recorded two more future-facing singles for the label and dropped jackin' leftfield cuts on Classic and Utensil. The seminal Charles Webster mix of 'The Sad Piano' has graced compilations by Ben Watt, Steve Bug, Circo Loco and MANDY, and Justin himself was nominated two years running as Best Newcomer at the House Music Awards. He is currently recording his debut album for Buzzin' Fly and 'The Fugitive' is a small taster of what we can expect...Awesome!!!! A totally unique sounding production done to devastating effect. Tough beats, grunts, grinds and heavy, heavy sub bass that finally launches into a gorgeous spring-loaded nu-Techno ride and will throw floors into a mad frenzy (believe). Flip for 'The Watrer Song' and we're treated to more of the same goodness. Killer!!!!! Go Get it Yo!

Cat No.BUZZ021 Always a pleasure when a Buzzin Fly Record drops on the door mat of a morning!! Quality is always assured and the latest offering is no exception. I'm already a big fan of Rocco's production talents and hear he drills home an epic floor stomper in the form of Roots 4 Acid. Described as dirty and serene... most definately. Gathering huge support from all the majors with the likes of John Digweed snapping up an early exclusive for his acclaimed new mix compilation. Flip over for the dubby tech-out remix from man of the moment Francois Dubois (aka Funk D'void) and you have another top of the draw package!! As always immense!!!!!!

Phreakin Records artist/dj Ben Wijay brings it on for their latest release. The 'Wait EP' is the perfect showcase in how to keep things diverse and very interesting! The title track is a blistering fusion of house, disco, electro funk which will no doubt have floors in a state of mayhem when it drops. Already gathering huge support, Steve Lawler bagged it for his opening track on his new 'Lights Out 3' compilation. Flip over and we're treated to the shuffle delights of 'Library Fine' a perfectly carved unique groove showing just what the Wijay sound is all about. Finally there's the funky bass looped goodness of 'Dripping With Passion'. Awesome Wijay beats once more layered with subtle hooky vocals, sparing keys and sparkly percussion to complete a sure-fire winning package! We Like!!!! Deep Down recommend!!!

Cat no: 020BUZZ Recorded especially for Buzzin' Fly, 'Square Up' is a warm, fat cinematic slice of wide-screen deep electronic House for Freerange Records head man, Jamie 'Jimpster' Odell. Already featured on Ben Watt's acclaimed Buzzin' Fly Vol 3 album and picked out by many as one of the highlights, it arrives for the first time in its original form with a gorgeous bonus DJ tool reprise. Jamie delivers a quality late-night house groove of epic proportions! Crisp tight beats, warm pads and filtered stabs all fused together perfectly with the emotive refrained vocals. A blissful journey of house which is just simply amazing!!!!! As a counterweight, BF calls on the skills of Los Angeles techno don, John Tejada for a brand new minimal and tender re-work locked on taut beats, blistered bassline and the original mix's plangent vocal refrain. Best Record of 2006!!!!!

Cat no: 019Buzz with the third instalment of Ben Watt’s critically acclaimed Buzzin’ Fly mix series just around the corner; this latest release drops a collection of exclusive remixes featured on vol 3 to wet all our appetites! What’s your style? Deep? Soulful? Minimal? This has something for everyone! 3 of the deadliest names around get the call to take on remix duties, and do so to incredible effect. Ame take Rodamaal’s previous hit ‘Insomnia’ and turn it into minimal dance floor crazed mayhem. Expect to see this around for a long, long time to come. The Nova Dream Sequence (King Britt) tackles Detroit’s Lephtee, and produces a beautifully deep ambient rework of ‘So far back’. Finally the deep Maestro that is Charles Webster brings a subtle re-edit of Manoo & Francois A’s remix of ‘Clear Sky’ written by Russian production duo, Kayot. Sublime package all the way… well you would expect anything less! Deep Down 10/10

Ben Watt's Buzzin Fly unveils yet another newcomer, this time young first-time Detroit producer Lephtee. Born in Hamtramck, Michigan against a formidable home-town backdrop of pioneering machine tooled electronic soul, he has created a mini minimalistic Motor City masterpiece - 'So Far Back'. On first hearing this record i was immediately drawn to its complete individuality from any record i've listen to over the past few months. The confict of beautiful piano with raw distorted guitars leads for a truly unique ride and provide the template for Berlin maestro Phonique's dancefloor killer re-work. This is an object lesson in restraint dancefloor pressure, all woozy with fat sub-bass and spectal voices. If you loved Charles Webster's seminal remix of Justin Martin's 'The Sad Piano' from a couple of years ago, you're gonna dig this! Take note people, this WILL be in your bag for a long, long time to come! Deep Down 10/10

Cat no:0015Buzz... Truly honored to receive this early in the post. Buzzin Fly continue to hold the realm as the most vital label around. Here they bring us something quirky, something fresh! Nominated as Best breakthrough Producer and Best Breakthrough DJ at the upcoming House music Awards 2005 (to add to his Breakthrough DJ nomination last year), there are fewer more exciting talents around than Justin Martin. Still only twenty-five, his infectious style of production and spinning has won plaudits from both deep and jackin' sides of the house spectrum. With his bumpin', witty, bittahsweet approach, he rose to prominence after the success surrounding his 2003 debut for Buzzin' Fly, 'The Sad Piano', a cut that was embraced by DJs as diverse as Steve Bug (included on his Bugnology CD), the Circo Loco crew, Layo and Miguel Migs. His second single for Buzzin' Fly, 'Le Boom', in March 2005 garnered more acclaim. As DMC Update said of it: 'Beg, borrow or mug a granny for a copy of this. There's simply something stunning about the way the old school synths and contemporary drums play together and which make this sound sooo fresh'. In between he has released left-field tunes for Derrick Carter's Classic Recordings and LA's Utensil. This, his 3rd for Buzzin' Fly, and in partnership with his long time booth buddy Sammy D, was a huge crowd-rocker at Miami WMC 2005. 'The Legend Of Papachongo' is growling, driving Afro-electro, peppered with humour and panache featuring SF's Fernando Rivera's tongue-in-cheek story of the great mountain (Papachongo) that towers iver his father's home village in South America. This is Scooby Doo and Indiana Jones meet DJ Gregory at DC10. Super cool! Full tools too! Drop it!

Cat No. 0014Buzz... Ben Watt and his Buzzin Fly massive continue to lead the way and show us all how house music should be done! Calling the return of Lyon's underground dons Manoo & Francois A (6 in the morning/ a new life) the label has another sure fire winner on its hands. Tough flat beats, dub bass, plangent strings, crystalline pianos and static-storm synths – it's called the 'Traffic EP'... and its amazing!! ‘Traffic’, with Manoo’s squared-off thudding bass and dancefloor swing, and Francois’ syncopated stabs and swirling quasi-orchestral arrangement hadthe crowd whistling and Charles Webster, Marques Wyatt, Cielo/Pacha’s Willie Graff and DJ Karizma asking for copies on its debut at the Buzzin’ FlyMiami 2005 party this year. Since then it has become a deadly weapon at every Buzzin’ Fly session, and is now garnering plaudits from a host of otherA-List DJs - Brian Tappert, Alix Alvarez, Desyn Masielo, Kaskade, Ray Roc and more. On the flipside, ‘The Deep’ rolling out on a thick bass pulse, moody electric piano and twinkling night-sky arpeggios is getting hot plate action from amongst others, King Britt, Julius Papp and Full Intention’s Michael Gray. In addition, the CD single release will include the bonus cut, ‘Five Seasons’, apreviously unreleased and stand-out track for many critics and DJs on Ben Watt’s recent best-selling mix compilation ‘Buzzin’ Fly Volume 2’, and now picking up rotation from Layo and Jask. If you are currently looking for you next imediate purchase, its all you need right here. One of the most essential records for 2005. Deep Down scores 10/10
